Student Projects & Adaptations: Trinity High School

Summary:

Sherry Knight and Cindi Fuselier’s collaboration focused on how personal collections both reveal and conceal the collector. Students were introduced to the concept of collecting through a visit to The Andy Warhol Museum and class discussion. Students worked on an art project combining the Pop Art focus of packaging and advertising with the practice of collecting. They created boxes themed “Package Yourself” in which their own personal collections were placed. Students created imagery on the exterior of the boxes to reflect and promote some aspect of their personality that they wanted the public to know about. The interior of the box contained private, more personal materials. Students also completed writing assignments about their collections.
