The Julia Zavacky Warhola Recordings
This video podcast combines audio recorded by Andy Warhol's mother, Julia, with images of the family from the early twentieth century. The recordings were made on reel to reel tapes during the late 1950's and early 1960's while Julia Warhola was living in New York City with her youngest son. These stories, chants, and stories are all from her childhood in the village of Mikova, Czechoslovakia, and part of the rich cultural history of the Carpatho-Rusyn people.
